Role within KATY

Pilot Planning, Execution and Validation of AI models for enriching histological data with molecular profiling information. This task consists of coordination between the partners involved in the pilot project evaluating the value added by enriching histological datasets with molecular profiling data (D6.1). Clinicians throughout the consortium will be engaged to identify specific markers of interest that are prognostic and theranostic indicators. These known features indicated by our clinician partners will be used to account for patients falling into distinct histologies. Additionally, clinicians will be engaged at every stage to evaluate unsupervised methods for predicting theranostic markers. The specialization of AI histology-based models towards renal cancer will be made possible by consolidation of the existing patient histologies with matched biomarker and -omic data collected by UEDIN, USTAN and CEA with new molecular profiling of the same patient samples. This task will also involve soliciting biologists, physicians, bioinformaticians and AI experts from the consortium to enable the biological and clinical interpretation of the molecular signatures generated from predictive AI models. Health professionals’ perception, understanding and potential adoption of these techniques will be studied.
